Barnes & Noble to launch Nook Video service
US retailer Barnes & Noble has announced its new Nook Video offering will premiere this fall with blockbuster movies, classic films and original TV shows from major studios including HBO, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, STARZ, Viacom, Warner Bros. Entertainment and The Walt Disney Studios. Beginning this fall in the US and coming this holiday in the UK, Nook Video will offer customers the opportunity to shop among an extensive digital collection of standard and high-definition movies and TV shows available for streaming or download. Videos that are streamed or downloaded from Nook Store will be stored in the Nook Cloud so Nook Video content can be enjoyed on Nooks e-readers and other devices via soon-to-launch free Nook Video apps. Nook Video will also integrate a customer's compatible physical DVD and Blu-ray Disc purchases and digital video collection across their devices through UltraViolet.

US retailer Barnes & Noble has unveiled its new Nook HD and Nook HD+ tablets. The 7-inch Nook HD sells from USD 199/GBP 159, and the 9-inch HD+ starts at USD 269/GBP 229. Barnes & Noble cuts Nook distribution deals in UK

US books retailer Barnes & Noble has inked a number of partnership deals with major retailers in the UK including multi-channel retailer Argos, academic bookseller Blackwell's and independent bookstore Foyles. Barnes & Noble digital sales flat, losses grow

US books retailer Barnes & Noble reported revenues of USD 192 million for its Nook digital operations in the fiscal first quarter ended 28 July. Barnes & Noble to offer Nook devices to UK in autumn

US retailer Barnes & Noble announced that this autumn it is expanding its digital business internationally for the first time, offering its Nook e-reader device to the UK. Barnes & Noble has unveiled new prices for its Nook Tablet and Nook Color devices for the back-to-school season. The Nook Tablet features a 7-inch VividView display and a long-lasting battery, Nook Apps and expandable memory.
