AT&T will launch an offer for families in partnership with the new digital music service Beats Music. The offer will be commercially available starting 21 January. With Beats Music, AT&T customers on a multi-line account will get unlimited streaming music and downloads for offline listening for up to five family members across 10 devices.
Each family member can get 24/7 access to more than 20 million songs and a curated experience, and the entire cost for the family is USD 14.99 per month, with the first 90 days of service free of charge. Individual AT&T mobile customers can take up the same access across three devices for USD 9.99 per month with the first 30 days free.
Beats Music will be available for download on nearly all major platforms or from a PC beginning 21 January. It also has an exclusive retail partnership with Target to curate a selection of music on the service and to distribute prepaid cards for subscriptions to Beats Music. Target will offer one month of Beats Music free to customers making a purchase at its Electronics & Entertainment department the week of 26 January.
Beats, the maker of headphones under the same brand, previously worked with HTC on its digital music service. Last year it bought out HTC's stake and secured new investors in order to launch the new subscription service.
