Belmer leaves Eutelsat to become CEO of Atos

Rodolphe Belmer, CEO of satellite operator Eutelsat since March 2016, has resigned from his role to take the helm at France-based ICT group Atos. He will start in his new position on 20 January 2022 at the latest, following the resignation of Atos’ current CEO, Elie Girard.

Atos executives Pierre Barnabe and Adrian Gregory will cover Girard’s responsibilities starting from 25 October, until Belmer takes office.

Eutelsat said that the process of recruiting a new CEO will begin immediately.

French ICT group Atos announced that satellite navigation technology provider GMV has selected Eviden's SkyMon platform for a new centre being set up by the Spanish government satellite operator Hisdesat. Atos issues profit warning as Belmer takes over as CEO

France-based ICT group Atos has published preliminary 2021 financial figures saying that they are below the revised guidance published in mid-July, when the company lowered its annual objectives following a slower-than-expected recovery in the first half of the year. Rodolphe Belmer, who took the helm of Atos on 01 January, noted that most of the items underlying the "severe gap" with guidance were non-recurring in nature.

Eutelsat names Eva Berneke as CEO

Satellite operator Eutelsat announced the appointment of Eva Berneke as CEO to replace Rodolphe Belmer, who recently resigned from his role to take the helm at France-based ICT group Atos. Berneke will join Eutelsat on 01 January from Denmark's KMD, a subsidiary of NEC specialising in IT and network integration. She has been working as CEO of KMD since 2014, leading the transformation of the company from a mainly government service provider to a player competing in both the public and private sectors.

Eutelsat's underlying revenues down 3% in September quarter

Satellite operator Eutelsat has posted revenues of EUR 284.8 million across its five operating verticals for the three months to September (fiscal Q1 2021-22), down 3.4 percent year-on-year at constant currency and perimeter (-2.7% in fiscal Q4). Atos posts 2% organic revenue drop in Q3, acquires machine learning specialist DataSentics

ICT group Atos generated revenues of EUR 2.67 billion in the three months to September, down 2.3 percent year-on-year on an organic basis (-1.5% in Q2). At constant currency rates, growth was flat as higher revenues in the regions of Southern Europe (+7.0%) and Growing Markets (+4.9%) were offset by a contraction in Northern Europe (-3.8%), Central Europe (-1.8%), and North America (-1.3%).

Atos lowers guidance, works on restructuring plan for German operations

France-based ICT group Atos has revised downwards its 2021 financial guidance following a lower-than-expected performance in the first half of the year. Despite strong demand for cloud services, organic revenue growth remained negative in the six months to June (-1.5% approximately), hurt by an accelerated decline in Atos' legacy infrastructure business. In the same period, the operating margin rate was lower than expected, at around 5.5 percent.
