
Cameroon opens tender for third mobile operator

Cameroon's ministry of posts and telecommunications has launched a call for interested parties to apply for a 3G licence to become the country's third mobile operator, Cameroon Tribune reports. Applicants must be mobile communication operators of international reputation, not already active in Cameroon and with at least USD 200 million of capital as of the end of 2011. Minpostel will draw up a shortlist by 20 July. The country's two operators are currently Orange and MTN.
