
China Mobile led net customer additions on the Chinese mobile market in January, adding 2.28 million new mobile customers in the month. China Mobile ended January with a total of 851.17 million customers. ChinaTelecom attracted 1.77 million new mobile customers for a total 216.77 million at 31 January. China Unicom added 1.26 mobile billing subscribers in the month, for a total 265 million at the end of January.
China Mobile still had the largest 4G user base in China in January, with 552.20 million 4G customers, which represents an increase of nearly 17 million in the month. China Telecom added 4.86 million 4G subscribers for a total 126.73 million, and China Unicom gained 5.97 million users to top 110.5 million 4G subscribers at end-January.
In the fixed broadband market, Unicom lost 910,000 net customers in the month, for a total 76.14 million customers at the end of January. China Telecom gained 910,000 fixed-line customers to reach 124.03 million, and China Mobile added 2.95 fixed broadband subscribers for a total 80.57 million at end-January.
