CNMC fines 11 Spanish IT firms EUR 30 mln for collusion

Spanish market and communications regulator CNMC has fined 11 IT companies a total of EUR 29.9 million for collusion in the delivery of computer and data processing services to public administration agencies. In a statement, the watchdog said the companies breached national and EU competition rules by creating a cartel to ensure they were awarded contracts for IT services to public bodies such as tax agencies as well as social security and public employment services.

The sanctioned companies are Indra Sistemas, with EUR 13.5 million; SAG Spain, with EUR 6 million; Atos Spain, with EUR 5 million; Connectis ICT Services, with EUR 1.8 million; IBM, with EUR 940,000 ; Everis Spain, with EUR 800,000; Babel Information Systems, with EUR 633,917; Cibernos Consulting, with EUR 616,038; Gesein, with EUR 320,969; Accentur, with EUR 300,000 and Next Computer Services, with EUR 46,760.
