Ericsson improves underlying margins in Q2, sales up 11%

Ericsson reported a strong increase in second-quarter results, helped by currency effects and a pick-up in its main Networks business. Sales increased by 11 percent year-on-year to SEK 60.7 billion. Adjusted for comparable units and currency rates, sales decreased by 6 percent, mainly due to less capacity business in North America. The mobile broadband business in North America stabilized in the quarter, but remained at a lower level than a year ago. The annual decline in North America was partly offset by an increased pace of 4G deployments in China, and sales growth was strong in the Middle
