
Everything Everywhere adds 300,000 contract customers in Q4

Everything Everywhere has reported its maiden annual financial results for the nine months to 31 December 2010. Revenue for the nine months reached GBP 5.30 billion, up 1.5 percent year-on-year, with mobile service revenue accounting for GBP 4.75 billion. EBITDA reached GBP 837 million for the nine months, versus GBP 1.07 billion a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA dropped to GBP 1.02 billion, from GBP 1.17 billion a year earlier, hurt by regulation as well as renewed spending on contract customer growth across both brands. The mobile operator formed from Orange and T-Mobile UK had a total 27.18 million customers at end-December, versus 28.18 million a year earlier. Contract mobile customers accounted for 11.95 million, up from 10.97 million, while prepaid mobile customers fell to 15.27 million from 16.31 million. Home broadband customers accounted for 770,000, down from 896,000. Total net additions reached 88,000 in Q4 2010, with contract net additions of 300,000 in Q4 and prepaid losses of 187,000. Mobile ARPU in Q4 was GBP 19.70 per month, with contract ARPU of GBP 35.20 and prepaid ARPU of GBP 7.60. The average minutes of use per customer was 196 per month in Q4, and 371 minutes for contract mobile customers. Smartphones now account for 82 percent of all pay monthly customers, up from 50 percent in Q4 2009. Total contract customer net additions over the nine months to 31 December were up 33 percent year-on-year to 752,000.
