Facebook opens Messenger service to non-account users
Facebook has added a new feature to its Messenger service, opening it up to people with no Facebook account and no desire for a Facebook account. The update will first roll out in Canada, the US, Peru and Venezuela. On the Messenger welcome screen, users will now see an option that says "Not on Facebook?" After giving their name, phone number and photo, they will then be able to use all of the features available on Messenger, including photos, videos, group chats, voice and video calling, or stickers.
