FCC approves USD 200 mln covid-19 telehealth programme
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has adopted the USD 200 million telehealth programme proposed earlier. The programme will support healthcare providers responding to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, helping them buy the telecom products, broadband connectivity and devices needed to for providing telehealth services. Funding applications from healthcare providers will be processed on a rolling basis.

The FCC also adopted final rules for its broader, longer-term Connected Care Pilot Program. The three-year Pilot Program will provide up to USD 100 million of support from the Universal Service Fund (USF) to help health care providers set up telehealth services, with a emphasis on low-income people and veterans.
