Wednesday 8 November 2017 | 15:35 CET | News
Romania's former prime-minister Sorin Grindeanu was appointed president of Romania's telecom authority Ancom by the local Parliament. Grindeanu was named as Ancom's president for the remaining period of the six-year mandate commenced on 11 May. Grindeanu's appointment was approved by the Economics Committee in the Senate and the IT Committee in the Chamber of Deputies. Grindeanu replaces Adrian Dita who resigned. Dita ended his controversial six-month mandate after facing strong opposition within the institution, the government and the PSD-ALDE coalition who appointed him in May.
