Free appeals permits for SFR, Bouygues to use Huawei equipment - report

French operator Free has filed a lawsuit against the authorisations given to rivals Bouygues Telecom and SFR to use Huawei 5G antennas, L'Express reports. The case at the Paris administrative court was filed in May, the report said.

Free claims the use of Huawei equipment gives the two rivals an unfair advantage. Its own requests to the security agency Anssi for security clearance on Huawei products were rejected, nor is Orange allowed to use the Chinese brand.

All four operators previously filed a lawsuit against the law imposing the security restrictions. France's highest court, Council of State ruled against the mobile companies
