German groups criticise amended vectoring proposals

German telecoms industry groups Breko, Buglas and VATM have increased their criticism of changes to the Federal Network Agency's vectoring proposals. The Agency recently amended its proposal on wholesale broadband access following criticism from the EC, insisting that the new proposal would give Deutsche Telekom's competitors access to vectoring in more areas and improve the conditions for virtual access to the last mile on DT's network.

However, Breko, Buglas and the VATM insist that the changes do not constitute an improvement and will lead to a worsening of the situation in many cases. They are calling on the EC to thoroughly examine the proposals, even after the changes made in response to EC criticism.
