Google to launch smartphones under Pixel brand - report
Google plans to introduce new smartphones under the names Pixel and Pixel XL, reports the blog Android Police. The two smartphones have the project names Marlin and Sailfish and would be the first from Google not to use the Nexus brand. 

According to the report, the Pixel phones would not run stock Android as the Nexus devices do, but instead Google's own variant of Android 7.0 HTC is thought to be the manufacturer of the devices, which will be presented on 04 October. 

Google already offers a tablet under the name Pixel-C.

Google starts rolling out Android Nougat to Nexus devices

Google has started rolling out the latest version of the Android mobile operator system to its own Nexus devices. First previewed in March, Android 7.0 Nougat comes with over 250 major features, Google said. Android 7.0 will roll out in the coming weeks to the Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C and the General Mobile 4G (Android One) as an over-the-air software update. Google to bring Android apps to Chromebooks next month

Google has announced that its Play Store will be available on Chromebooks starting next month. As a result, users will be able to download over 1.5 million Android apps that they can use both online and offline on their Chrome OS-powered computers.
