
HTC announces Windows Phone 8X, 8S

HTC announced the new Windows Phone 8X and 8S, its first phones running Windows Phone 8. The 8X, which will launch with T-Mobile USA and AT&T, features a 4.3-inch Super LCD screen with 720p HD (1280 x 720), 1.5GHz dual-core S4 processor from Qualcomm, 16GB internal storage, 8 megapixel back camera, a new wide-angle front camera for group video chats and HSPA+. The 8S comes with a smaller 4.0-inch screen, 5 megapixel camera and 1GHz processor. Both phones will launch in a range of colours and feature Beats Audio. The phones are set to hit the market as "signature" Windows devices beginning in November. HTC said the phones will be available through over 150 operators worldwide, including Orange, Telefonica, O2, MTS, 3 UK, T-Mobile and Vodafone in Europe and Chunghwa Telecom, Singtel and Smartone in Asia and Optus, Telstra and Vodafone in Australia.
