Microsoft renames Marketplace as Windows Phone Store
Microsoft has confirmed plans to rename the Windows Phone Marketplace the Windows Phone Store. The company said this brings the mobile apps store in line with the branding of its Windows Store for PC apps and games. The two stores will also share the same logo. The mobile app store also gets a number of improvements in a re-launch of the site. These include adopting the Bing search engine and improved search results, to deliver suggested apps that are spelled similar, feature similar content to the keyword or are in the same genre. The store also gets new lists to help find relevant apps, such as 'Top Free', 'Top Paid', 'Best Rated' and 'New+Rising', as well as the Spotlight area for apps recommended by Microsoft. In addition, the store will not display as prominently apps with overtly sexual content, and Microsoft is addign a channel for customer feedback, to report apps that users may find offensive, have technical problems or don't work as advertised. The new "Report concern" link will be visible on every app's download page.
