HTC launches Zoe video editing app for other Android users
HTC announced the formation of HTC Creative Labs, its own internal innovation centre, along with the release of a new application for Android 4.4 users called Zoe. The collaborative video editing application allows users to create, share and remix professional-quality highlight videos. The app works with devices from HTC, Samsung and LG (including the Nexus 5) running Android 4.4 or later and is available free in public beta on Google Play. 

HTC Creative Labs groups developers who have worked on the latest version of HTC's smartphone interface with gesture control and services such as BlinkFeed. The group counts team members in Seattle, San Francisco and Taipei and will be responsible for crafting the user experience across HTC’s entire product portfolio.

HTC returns to sales growth in August

HTC reported a return to sales growth in August. Revenues rose 10.4 percent year-on-year and 37.1 percent from the previous month to TWD 14.54 billion. The smartphone maker's revenues in the year to date are still down 13.4 percent from the year-earlier period to TWD 123.33 billion. Sales will need to show continued growth in September in order to meet the company's forecast for third-quarter revenues of TWD 42-47 billion. In July and August, revenues totaled TWD 25.1 billion.

HTC forecasts slowdown in Q3 results

HTC expects results to fall back in the third quarter, as the smartphone maker is unable to sustain the momentum of Q2 when it launched the new One M8. The company forecast sales of TWD 42-47 billion for Q3, versus TWD 65 billion in Q2. HTC introduces One mini 2 smartphone

HTC confirmed the launch of the One mini 2 smartphone this summer. The phone features a metallic body, available in grey, silver or gold, a 4.5-inch HD display and a 5 megapixel front camera.
