Huawei maintains 2nd place on global smartphone market, for the moment - Gartner

Smartphone sales fell 2.7 percent in the first quarter to 373 million units worldwide, according to the latest study from Gartner. The US and China, the two countries that sell the most smartphones, saw sales decline by 15.8 percent and 3.2 percent, respectively. Samsung continued to lead the pack of manufacturers, but Huawei managed to maintain its second place, narrowing the gap with number one thanks to sales in China and despite its absence from the US. Sales for Huawei grew in all regions, especially in Europe and Greater China, up 69 percent and 33 percent, respectively. However,
