Huawei to unveil improved foldable phone at MWC

Richard Yu, in charge of Huawei’s consumer business, has revealed that a new version of the Mate X foldable smartphone will be unveiled at MWC 2020, reports Frandroid. During his recent visit in Paris, Yu said that the 5G handset will feature an improved hinge and screen, as well as a faster Kirin 990 processor, adding that Huawei is also aiming to reduce the weight of the phone.

It remains unclear whether the new version described by Yu is different from the Mate Xs model expected in 2020, which has been briefly mentioned by Huawei in a recent presentation and is going to be equipped with a Kirin 990 processor.

Yu also stated that Huawei plans to launch its foldable smartphone in European markets, but no further details on the timing and the version are currently available.
