Huawei voluntarily restricts business activities in Iran

Huawei will voluntarily restrict its business development in Iran by no longer seeking new customers and limiting its business activities with existing customers due to the increasingly complex situation there. For communications networks that have been delivered or are under delivery to customers, Huawei will continue to provide necessary services to ensure communications for Iran's citizens. Huawei is committed to providing telecommunications functions that are in line with a vision 'to enrich life through communication', the Chinese company said in a statement. Huawei has been under pressure from politicians in the US, where it's seeking to expand its business, to end all ties to business in Iran. The company has denied allegations that its communications equipment helped the Iran government monitor the activity of political dissidents.
