Huawei's Honor presents Honor 20, 20 Pro smartphones

Honor, Huawei’s brand aimed at young people, presented the Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro smartphones in London. Both devices provide high-end specifications comparable to the Huawei P30 series and Huawei Mate 20 series, but the suggested retail price is much lower. The Honor 20 Pro is also the first smartphone on the market with a camera aperture of f/1.4.

Both smartphones have a 6.26 inch IPS-LCD screen with a Full HD+ screen resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels. Just like the Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, P30 and P30 Pro, both Honor smartphones are also powered by the Kirin 980 processor. This is Huawei’s high-end smartphone processor and counterpart to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. The Honor 20 has 6 GB of memory and 128 GB of storage capacity; the Honor 20 Pro has 8 GB of memory and 256 GB storage. There is no memory card slot.

Four cameras

Both new Honor smartphones are equipped with four cameras at the rear, although the configuration differs. The Honor 20 Pro consists of a primary 48-megapixel camera with an extra large aperture of f/1.4. According to Honor, this should result in very clear photos, even in dark conditions. In addition to the primary camera, the Honor 20 Pro has a 16-megapixel camera with ultra wide-angle lens, an 8-megapixel telephoto camera for 3x optical zoom and a 2-megapixel macro camera.

The Honor 20 also has a 48-megapixel primary camera, although the aperture is somewhat smaller, at f/1.8. This device is equipped with the same 16-megapixel camera with ultra-wide-angle lens, a depth sensor and a 2-megapixel macro camera. Both smartphones also have a 32-megapixel camera at the front.

Large fast charging battery

The Honor 20 Pro is equipped with a 4,000 mAh battery, the Honor 20 with a 3,750 mAh battery. Both devices support fast charging at 22.5 watts. This means the battery can be charged to 50 percent in 24-30 minutes.

Price and availability

The Honor 20 Pro will come on the market with a suggested retail price of EUR 599, while the Honor 20 will cost EUR 499. The release date of both devices has not yet been announced.
