South Korean operator KT reports it has completed the acquisition of Altimedia, a provider of digital media services for pay-TV operators, such as middleware, content security, user experience, and cloud UI. KT has also completed the incorporation of Altimedia into KT Group. No financial details related to the transaction have been disclosed.
Altimedia is a middleware and CAS services provider in South Korea. The company also operates regional offices in the Netherlands and Vietnam. Its business partners include Viettel in Vietnam and Turk Telekom in Turkey.
Through the acquisition of Altimedia, KT expects to increase its internalization of media technology. KT also aims to expand its global media market penetration using Altimedia’s overseas business expertise and local presence.
