LG unveils K8, K5 mid-range smartphones

LG Electronics has expanded its K Series smartphone lineup with the launch of the K8 and K5 mid-range devices. LG introduced the K10, K7 and K4 earlier this year. The K8 and K5 will be introduced in key markets this week. The K8 will be available to consumers in regions including Asia, Africa, the Middle East, CIS and Latin America. The K5 will target customers in Europe, CIS and Latin America (model name Q6 in Mexico).

The K8 features 2.5D Arc Glass, 5-inch HD In-cell Touch display, 8-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera, as well as options such as Gesture Interval Shot and Flash for Selfie. The device also includes 1.3GHz Quad-Core chipset, 1.5GB (EU, NA) / 1GB (LATAM) / microSD memory, and 2,125mAh removable battery. The K8 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, and comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, and USB 2.0 connectivity support. The smartphone will be available in Gold, Indigo, and White color versions.

The K5 includes a 5-inch FWVGA display, metallic body, and 2-megapixel front camera with Gesture Shot. The smartphone also includes 1.3GHz Quad-Core chipset, memory 1GB RAM / 8GB ROM / microSD, and  1,900mAh removable battery. The phone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. The device will be available in three colors – Gold, Silver and Titan.
