LG to unveil new K8, K10 smartphones at MWC

LG Electronics announced that it will unveil at Mobile World Congress new editions of its mid-range K8 and K10 smartphones. Both models will roll out globally in regions such as Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.

Last refreshed in early 2017, the new K series models carry the same "glossy pebble" appearance with a 2.5D Arc Glass design. They will be available in the new colours Aurora Black, Moroccan Blue and Terra Gold.

The K10 comes with a sleek metal U-frame with 5.3-inch HD display and 3,000 mAh battery. It runs Android 7.1 and an octa-core processor and features up to 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage, plus support for microSD cards up to 2 TB. 

The K10's advanced 13MP rear camera comes with technology found in the flagship LG G6, and it also features a high-resolution 8MP front camera that supports Bokeh when shooting selfies. The new Smart Rear Key unlocks the phone with a fingerprint can can trigger Quick Shutter for faster photos and Quick Capture for screen shots.

The new LG K8 delivers more advanced camera user interface features, including increased support for low-light photography. The Android 7.1 phone comes with a 5.0-inch HD display, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB storage plus microSD up to 32 GB and a 2,500mAh battery. 

Clearer photographs in dim environments is made possible in both the K8 and K10 with the new Low Light Noise Reduction feature. Combined with HDR, photos come out sharper with more luminosity and contrast levels, LG said. Another new feature of the K Series camera is Flash Jump Shot, which snaps a photo every three seconds (up to 20 photos) and stitches the images together into a GIF.
