Lombard steps down early as France Telecom chairman

France Telecom-Orange chairman Didier Lombard will resign at the next board meeting on 23 February. He told La Tribune that his term was due to end at the next general assembly in June, but that after a year with a separate chairman and CEO, it would be better to not wait another half a year before France Telecom is again directed by a single chairman and CEO, Stephane Richard. Lombard said he will not receive any indemnity for early retirement, having renounced this last year. He plans to set up a new structure to accompany French digital economy entrepreneurs, working with France Telecom as one of its main partners.
