
Microsoft has hired the former McAfee CEO Christopher Young as executive vice president of business development. Young will report directly to CEO Satya Nadella.
Young left McAfee early this year to work at its owner TPG Capital as an adviser. In 2017, he led the initiative to spin McAfee out of Intel as a standalone company. Previously, Young held senior positions at Cisco, VMware, RSA and AOL.
Young will be responsible for developing Microsoft's global business development strategies that drive growth across the company. This includes leading the evaluation and execution of strategic partnership opportunities, including alliances, venture investments and joint ventures that align with corporate strategy.Young's other positions include seats on the US President's National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC) and on the boards of American Express and Snap.
