
CEO Satya Nadella said it was a record fiscal year for the company and that in the quarter, the company returned USD 7.7 billion to shareholders in the form of buybacks and dividends. For the full year, revenues advanced 14 percent to USD 125.8 billion, the operating income went 23 percent higher to USD 43.0 billion and the net profit jumped 137 percent to USD 39.2 billion or USD 5.06 per diluted share.
At the company’s Productivity and Business division, the operating profit for Q4 increased to USD 4.344 billion from 3.466 billion. Revenues went up 14 percent to USD 11.0 billion, with Office Commercial products and clouds services rising 14 percent and Office 365 Consumer subscribers reaching 34.8 million. Dynamics products and cloud services went 12 percent higher.
At the Intelligent Cloud division, which includes Azure and other enterprise cloud services, the operating profit climbed USD 4.502 billion from 3.901 billion. Revenues went 19 percent higher to USD 11.4 billion, with Server products and cloud services climbing 22 percent, driven by Azure growth of 64 percent. Enterprise Services revenue were up 4 percent.
Finally, at Personal Computing, the operating profit went higher to USD 3.559 billion from 3.012 billion. Revenue growth slowed to 4 percent -from 8 percent in the previous quarter- to USD 11.3 billion, pulled lower by a 10 percent decline in Gaming revenue, with Xbox software and services revenue down 3 percent. Revenues for Windows OEM went up 9 percent, Windows Commercial products and Clouds services rose 13 percent, Surface revenue lifted 14 percent and search advertising revenue (excluding traffic acquisition costs) increased 9 percent.
