Microsoft to launch preview of game streaming service in October

Microsoft announced that it will preview a new streaming service for its Xbox customers from October. With console streaming, gamers will have access to their Xbox One game library and Xbox Game Pass titles on the go, streamed directly from an Xbox One console to a mobile device.

The company demonstrated its Project xCloud at the E3 games conference. Attendees could play Xbox One games like Halo 5: Guardians and Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice streaming on smartphones and tablets.

In addition to the streaming service, Microsoft will continue to make an Xbox games console. The company previewed at E3 Project Scarlett, its new console planned to launch in time for the holiday season in 2020. The platform is expected to come with a custom-designed AMD processor, high bandwidth GDDR6 memory, a next-generation solid state drive and support for 8K graphics and 120 fps.The launch will coincide with the release of the 'Halo Infinite' game. 

Microsoft is also expanding Xbox to PCs with a new Game Pass beta for Windows users. It's available through the new Xbox app on Windows 10 computers for USD 4.99 per month during the beta period. The service is designed specifically for PC gamers with a curated library of over 100 games from more than 75 developers and publishers, including favourites like Football Manager 2019, Imperator: Rome and Metro Exodus. Customers can also combine an Xbox pass for the console and PC in the new Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan for USD 14.99.
