Verizon and Motorola Mobility announced they are adding three new exclusive smartphones, Droid Razr M, Droid Razr HD and Droid Razr Maxx HD, to the Droid Razr Motorola family on the Verizon Wireless LTE network. The Droid Razr M features a 4.3-inch Super Amoled display and is shorter and narrower than the original Droid Razr but has the same screen size. The Droid Razr HD features a 4.7-inch Super Amoled HD display and provides customers with 78 percent more pixels for a more vibrant display and 40 percent greater battery capacity than the original Droid Razr. The Droid Razr Maxx HD features a battery life with 32 hours of normal use, 13 hours of straight video playback and 21 hours of continuous talk time.

The suite of new Droid Razrs run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and come equipped with Google Mobile services. The Droid Razr M is available in either black or white for pre-order on Verizon's website and will be available in stores beginning 13 September for USD 99.99 after USD 50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year agreement. The Droid Razr HD and Droid Razr Maxx HD will be available before the holidays. The Droid HD will be available in either black or white, and the Razr Maxx HD will be available in black.

Motorola said the Razr M will also launch in the Asia Pacific region, and the Razr HD will be available in Asia, Europe, North America and Latin America. A special developers edition of both phones will also be available from the Motorola website in the US, offering a range of software tools to unlock the bootloader. Outside the US, the device will ship with an unlockable bootloader where operators allow.
