Mozilla rolls out free 'Firefox Send' file-sharing service
Mozilla announced the launch of a free encrypted file transfer service called Firefox Send, available at send.firefox.com. First introduced as a Test Pilot experiment back in 2017, Send allows users to safely and simply share files from any browser, not just Firefox, and will also be available as an Android app in beta later this week.

By default users can upload or drag and drop up to 100 files of up to 1GB each, rising to 2.5GB if they sign in with a Firefox account. The service then generates a link that can be set to expire after a certain amount of time, ranging from 5 minutes to 7 days, and that can be protected by a password to prevent unauthorised downloads. "As with all Firefox apps and services, Send is Private By Design, meaning all of your files are protected, and we stand by our mission to handle your data privately and securely,” said Mozilla's VP of Firefox Product Nick Nguyen in a blog post.
