NENT gets rights to Copa America, South American 2022 football world cup qualifiers, Brazil-Argentina friendlies

Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT) has announced its acquisition of the exclusive media rights to show the 2021 and 2024 editions of the Copa America men's international football tournament in South America. It has also obtained the rights to air the South American FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers and Brazil and Argentina’s friendly matches between 2022 and 2024. All the matches will be shown live on NENT’s streaming service, Viaplay.

On 13 June, Brazil and Venezuela will kick off the 47th Copa America tournament, which will run for one month. Viewers in every Nordic country can stream all 28 matches from the 2021 Copa America live on Viaplay. The 2024 tournament will be available on Viaplay in the Nordic and Baltic regions and in Poland.

The South American FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers will be shown live on Viaplay in the Nordic and Baltic regions on twelve match days between June 2021 and March 2022. Brazil and Argentina’s friendly matches between 2022 and 2024 will be available on Viaplay in the Nordic and Baltic regions and in Poland. The agreement has been brokered by Pitch International.

NENT doubles year-end international Viaplay subscriber target to 500,000 as it adds 27,000 in Q2

Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT) said has raised its year-end international Viaplay subscriber target to 500,000 from more than 250,000 as the streaming service added 27,000 international subscribers over the course of the second quarter to 30 June. The company said it will be announcing new international markets at or before a capital markets day in September. It also reported 113,000 new Nordic subscribers during Q2.

Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group) has won Premier League rights for the Netherlands, Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, from 2022 to 2028. The six-season deal expands NENT Group's rights for the competition to nine European countries. The group also has exclusive rights for Sweden, Denmark and Finland to 2028, and in Norway from 2022 to 2028.

The deal extends NENT Group's long-term partnership with Formula 1 to nine European markets.

Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT) has agreed with Bundesliga International to extend NENT's media rights for two German men's football league divisions until 2029 in nine European markets. The subsidiary of DFL Deutsche Fussball Liga is letting NENT show Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 games every week on the Viaplay streaming service in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, along with studio output and local language commentary.

Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT) said it has given up the idea of a secondary listing in the US but is still going ahead with its plan to raise more than SEK 3.5 billion in equity to fund its international expansion. It will hold an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on 25 January to vote on the issue of new Class B shares representing up to 20 percent of total shares, without applying shareholders' pre-emptive rights.
