Nokia and Engie Solutions win LTE private network contract for Grand Paris Express metro project
State-owned public transport company SGP (Societe du Grand Paris) has selected a consortium formed by Nokia and Engie Solutions to deploy an LTE private network for a new automated metro system planned in the French capital. Known as Grand Paris Express, this transport project will see the construction of several new metro lines totalling 200 km of track, serving 68 additional stations.

Nokia said that the LTE private network will rely on its Industrial-grade Private Wireless product portfolio to provide high-speed indoor/outdoor connectivity, enabling a wide range of voice and data services, such as on-board video surveillance. The network will meet the operational and maintenance requirements of the Grand Paris Express across across three (15, 16, 17) of its four new lines.

Engie Solutions will bring to the project its expertise in the design and construction of rail transport infrastructure. The company will be responsible for supporting the deployment in areas including system integration, testing and procurement
