Nokia scraps COO post, Erlemeier leaves company on 01 January

Nokia has announced that it is discontinuing the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) and distributing its various functions to other executives. As a result, current COO Joerg Erlemeier has decided to step down from the group leadership team, it said, and leave the company on 01 January 2020.

Sounds like Suri is in panic mode. Diluting the COO function to other functions is nonsensical. Realistically what he should do is fire the old guard and start from a clean slate to revamp the whole operating model.
