PC shipments surge 55% in Q1, with Lenovo in the lead

Monday 12 April 2021 | 16:58 CET | News
The global shipment of traditional PCs, including desktops, notebooks, and workstations, grew 55.2 percent year-over-year during the first quarter, according to preliminary results from IDC. While PCs remain in extremely high demand, the growth rate benefited from the shortages faced in Q1 2020 when the global pandemic began, resulting in an unusually favourable year-on-year comparison. Lenovo was the market leader in Q1 with a market share of 24.3 percent, followed by fellow PC manufacturers HP, Dell, Apple and Acer.
