Polkomtel considers LTE cooperation with Polsat

Polish mobile operator Polkomtel is looking at several ways to launch LTE services, including working with the Polsat group which holds frequencies in the 1,800 MHz band, Jaroslaw Bauc, the CEO of Polkomtel, told Rzeczpospolita. The operator is also preparing for the tenders for frequencies in the 2,600 MHz and 800 MHz bands, he said. Bauc said it's too early to say when the operator could launch the services. He also did not rule out that Polkomtel could become part of the Polsat group. Polish telecommunications businessman and owner of Polsat, Zygmunt Solorz-Zak recently confirmed that he is interested in investing in Polish mobile operator Polkomtel. The mobile operator's Polish controlling shareholders have been looking to sell the operator.
