Reliance Jio offers 90-day free trial with new phones

India's newest mobile operator Reliance Jio has announced a special launch offer with an expanded group of smartphone makers. Consumers buying smartphones from LYF, Samsung, Sony, LG, Asus, Panasonic, Micromax, Karbonn, Xolo, Gionee, Lava, Videocon, Sansui, YU, TCL, Alcatel, HTC, Vivo and Intex will get a preview of the Reliance Jio 4G services for 90 days free. The 4G Sim is provided with unlimited access to HD voice and video calling, SMS, data services and Jio Apps. 

Customers need to download the MyJio application from the Play store on their new phone in order to find the coupon for activating the offer. They must then register at a Reliance store to receive the SIM. The offer is available for consumers with immediate effect and comes ahead of a full commercial launch of the new operator. Reliance started the trial service in June for new customers with LFY and has since been expanding it to more phonemakers.

Airtel promotes LTE network with offer of year of free data

Bharti Airtel launched a special offer under which it will offer data at no extra cost for 12 months worth up to INR 9,000 to customers who switch to its LTE network. This offer is open until 28 February and is available to any customer with a LTE mobile handset who is currently not on the Airtel network. Existing Airtel customers who upgrade to a new LTE handset can also avail this offer. Indian operator Reliance Jio Infocomm has announced it has passed the milestone of 50 million subscribers in just 83 days from the launch of its mobile services on 5 September 2016. The operator says its average rate of customer addition stood at 600,000 subscribers per day in the period.

Indian operator Reliance Jio Infocomm has launched its official website, Jio.com. Reliance Jio has also opened registrations for customers who are interested in Jio 4G services, The Economic Times reports. The move follows the extension of 4G services to the general public through an employee-driven invite system.
