Reliance Jio to share RCom fibre backbone
Indian telecommunication companies Reliance Jio Infocomm has signed a definitive agreement worth approximately INR 12 billion for one-time, indefeasible rights to use Reliance Communications' nationwide intercity fibre network. Under the terms of the agreement, Reliance Jio Infocomm will use multiple fibre pairs across RCom's 120,000 kilometres of network to provide a backbone for rolling out its LTE services. RCom will in turn have reciprocal access to fibre infrastructure to be built by Reliance Jio Infocomm in the future. The agreement provides for joint working arrangements to be put in place immediately for upgrade of the fibre network.

Reliance Jio opposes hike in spectrum usage charge

Reliance Jio Infocomm (RJIL), the telecommunication arm of Reliance Industries (RIL), has asked the Department of Telecom (DoT) to reject the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India's (Trai) recommendations for a flat spectrum usage charge (SUC) of 3 percent of adjusted gross revenue (AGR), instead of one linked to the quantity of spectrum held. Reliance Jio inks MoU for LTE roll-out in Kolkata

Indian operator Reliance Jio has signed a MoU with the Kolkata Municipal Corporation for laying its LTE network in the city, reports PTI. Reliance Jio to get extension for testing LTE calls - report

Reliance Jio Infocomm (RJI), the telecommunication arm of Reliance Industries (RIL), is about to get a six-month extension for testing phone call services on the LTE network, reports PTI citing sources. Reliance Communications sees Q4 profit fall

Indian operator Reliance Communications saw its net profit fall to INR 3.03 billion in the fourth quarter ended 31 March, from INR 3.32 billion in the year-ago quarter. Revenues however, improved to INR 59.56 billion from INR 53.10 billion a year earlier, with wireless revenues coming in at INR 46.26 billion, Global Enterprise (GEBU) revenues at INR 24.66 billion, and other revenues totalling INR 7.77 billion. Reliance reported an EBITDA of INR 22.18 billion and an EBITDA margin of 37.2 percent.
