
Russian residents spent USD 1.06 billion on downloading mobile applications and on purchases using them in 2019, reports Cnews.ru citing a study by App Annie. The figure grew by 40 percent year-on-year. The country was in the sixth position globally by amount of app downloads.
Russians last year downloaded 5.1 billion chargeable and free applications, said App Annie. By number of downloads per year, Russia was behind China, India, the US, Brazil and Indonesia.
Russia held 0.9 percent of the USD 120 billion global mobile application market in 2019. China accounts for about 75 percent, spending USD 90 billion.
