Samsung creates new Device eXperience division

Samsung said its newly merged SET division has been named the DX (Device eXperience) Division, to reflect the company’s “ongoing commitment to creating new and meaningful experiences for customers.”

The DX Division, headed by vice chairman and CEO Jong-Hee Han, will include the Visual Display Business, Digital Appliances Business, Health & Medical Equipment Business, MX Business and Networks Business. 

The company hopes with the new division to strengthen synergies among the diverse businesses, and to create differentiated products and services.

Samsung reshuffles management, names new CEO for consumer businesses

Samsung Electronics announced a reshuffle of its top executives. Jong-Hee (JH) Han was promoted to Vice Chairman and CEO and will lead the newly merged SET division, combining mobile, TV and other consumer electronics and appliances. He also remains head of the Visual Display Business. President Kyehyun Kyung was also named CEO and will lead the DS division, including semiconductors and components.

Google to launch Pixel smartwatch next year - report

Google plans to introduce its first in-house smartwatch next year, Insider reported citing sources close to the matter. The company's Pixel hardware group is working on the watch, codenamed "Rohan", separately from Fitbit, acquired earlier this year for USD 2.1 billion. The device is expected to cost more than a Fitbit and compete more directly with the Apple Watch, according to sources quoted by The Verge. It will have basic fitness tracking features, including step counting and a heart rate monitor.

Samsung Electronics introduced three of its latest automotive chip products: the Exynos Auto T5123 for 5G connectivity, the Exynos Auto V7 for in-vehicle infotainment systems and the ASIL-B certified S2VPS01 power management IC (PMIC) for the Auto V series.

Samsung introduces low-cost 5G smartphones in US

Samsung Electronics America announced the Galaxy A13 5G, what it calls the most affordable 5G phone in the A series portfolio. It comes with a 6.5-inch adaptive 90Hz Infinity-V HD+ display, 15W Fast Charging, 64GB of onboard storage, and expandable storage which can hold up to 1TB when a microSD card is added.
