Spain's Masmovil acquires MVNO Llamaya for EUR 41.7 mln
Spanish operator MasMovil has announced the acquisition of 100 percent of MVNO Llamaya from More Minutes Comunications for a total of up to EUR 41.7 million. In a statement to Madrid's MAB alternative stock exchange, the company said the value of the acquisition came to EUR 29.7 million plus variable payments of up to EUR 12 million depending on certain operating parameters to be paid in 2018-2019. Llamaya is an MVNO catering above all to Central American users present in Spain, with around 170,000 active prepay customers and revenues of EUR 22.5 million in 2016.

Spain's communications and markets watchdog CNMC has approved the Masmovil group's acquisition of MVNO Lycamobile Spain without imposing any conditions. Spanish telecommunications group Masmovil, the country's fourth largest network operator, has announced an agreement to acquire 100 percent of the shares of MVNO Lycamobile Spain for a total of EUR 372 million, confirming earlier reports. The subsidiary of the UK-based Lyca group has been targeting the ethnic market in Spain since its launch in 2010 and reported revenues of EUR 132 million and an EBITDA of around EUR 45 million last year.

Masmovil's Llamaya cuts convergent offer to EUR 30 for new users

Spanish operator Llamaya, a Masmovil brand, has reduced the price of its basic fibre-based convergent plan from EUR 36.90 to EUR 29.90 a month for new users. The plan comes with 50Mbps fibre broadband, a landline with unlimited calls to Spanish fixed line numbers and 60 minutes to mobile numbers plus a mobile line with 3GB of data and 150 minutes of calls. The price will remain the same for 12 months as long as subscribers sign up by 30 June.

Spanish operator Llamaya, a Masmovil brand, has announced the launch of its first convergent plan, a fibre-based offering costing EUR 36.90 a month. The plan comes with 50Mbps fibre broadband, a landline with unlimited calls to Spanish fixed line numbers and 60 minutes to mobile numbers plus a mobile line with 3GB of data and 150 minutes of calls. Subscribers can add up to 4 mobile lines from the operator's available plans to the convergent package and a dual-band router is provided at no extra cost.

Spain's Llamaya revamps postpay plans to match prepay offer

Spanish operator Llamaya, a Masmovil brand, has announced a revamp of its postpay plans to match the cost and conditions of its prepay offer. The company said customers can now sign up for a contract with 150 minutes of calls and 3GB of data for EUR 5, rising to EUR 10 for 7GB, EUR 15 for 12GB and EUR 20 for 20GB. Unlimited calls are available for an additional EUR 5 a month, with an extra 1GB of data available for EUR 3.50.

Spanish operator MasMovil has announced that it's completed the acquisition of fixed wireless provider Neutra Network Services for a total of EUR 15.5 million. In a statement to market regulator CNMV, the operator said the buy gives it the right to use 40MHz of nationwide spectrum in the 3.4 to 3.6 GHz band, considered key for the development of 5G. Llamaya to migrate network from Orange to Yoigo - report

Spanish operator Masmovil is set to migrate the customers of its Llamaya brand from Orange's mobile network to that of Yoigo starting this month, reports website Movilonia. New customers will begin using SIM cards with Yoigo coverage in May, followed by existing postpay and ported clients, although the operator hasn't specified whether the latter will need to change their SIM card to access the new network, said the report.

Spanish operator LlamaYa, a Masmovil brand, has announced the launch of three more prepay bundles aimed at data hungry users. The 10GB, 15GB and 20GB bundles cost EUR 15, EUR 25 and EUR 30 respectively and all come with 500 minutes of calls to all numbers. Spanish operator Masmovil reported service revenues of EUR 245 million in the second quarter of 2017, up 19 percent on a proforma basis from a year earlier. Spanish mobile broadband lines up to 89% penetration

Spanish mobile broadband lines reached a total of 39.78 million in February, up 6.3 percent year on year and equivalent to 89.3 lines per 100 inhabitants, according to the latest data from telecom regulator CNMC. However, a 125,286 monthly rise in postpay connections was unable to offset a 169,076 fall in prepay lines, meaning there were 43,790 fewer active lines in February. The overall mobile penetration rate increased by 1 percentage point year on year to 110.1 lines per 100 inhabitants.
