Sunrise Communications has acquired Lebara in Switzerland. Combined with its existing yallo brand, the deal strengthens Sunrise's position in the market for pre-paid, low-cost international calls and data services. Lebara started its operations in Switzerland in March 2007, and the takeover was completed on 01 July. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Sunrise has drawn CHF 95 million under its revolving credit facility to fund the acquisitions and maintain a strong cash position on balance sheet.
