
Schaeppi takes over with immediate effect and also announced a restructure of the company's enterprise business, to merge the Corporate Business and IT Services activities. From 1 January 2014, all corporate customers will be served by the new Enterprise Customers division. Schaeppi said he will otherwise continue the group's current strategy and pursue grow opportunities in areas such as cloud solutions, home networking and eHealth.
As part of the new enterprise structure, Swisscom will start buildings its own cloud platform in early 2014. Over the next three years Swisscom will gradually migrate its own applications to the new platform and launch new offerings on the market for its customers. In addition to the new Enterprise Customers division, headed by Andreas Konig, the company is maintaining its Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises division.
The IT, Network & Innovation division will be responsible for the operation of all IT systems and will also take over the IT platforms previously managed by Swisscom IT Services. Its director Heinz Herren will derve as deputy CEO, along with Marco Rossi. The remainder of Swisscom IT Services will be integrated into Swisscom Switzerland, and the centralised marketing unit will be integrated into the Residential Customers division.
The holdings of Group Related Business will be transferred to Group Business Steering. Ueli Dietiker will focus on his directorships of Swisscom subsidiaries and Fastweb, and will also work directly with the CEO on special projects. He will also continue as acting head of Group Related Business until a permanent head is appointed in 2014. To bring innovation and operational business closer together, the unit is to be integrated into IT, Network & Innovation.
Jurgen Galler, currently Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Innovation, will give up his function and resign from the Group Executive Board as a result of the new organisation.
