T-Mobile NL adds 5G access to unlimited plan

T-Mobile Netherlands announced that customers on its Go Unlimited plan will be able to use its 5G network at no extra cost when it launches. This follows the introduction in February of a special '5G-ready' version of the plan, called Go Unlimited Plus, for EUR 2.50 extra per month. 

Since 28 April all new and existing Go Unlimited subscriptions will come with 5G access, according to the company's website. 

T-Mobile is one of three confirmed applicants for the 5G spectrum auction planned for June. The company has said previously it aims to launch services quickly across the country after obtaining the necessary spectrum in the 700 MHz band. 

The main advantages of the Go Unlimited Plus plan now are unlimited calls to EU countries and the 'Extra Veilig Online' security service. The basic Go Unlimited plan without these two options costs EUR 35 per month.

To illustrate the unending possibilities of the network, it will show a range of applications, such as the '70-year-old beauty vlogger' as its 'Unlimiteds'. The artist Typhoon will be the face of the campaign, which will run on TV, radio, outdoor, social media, online, CRM and retail channels.

T-Mobile Netherlands has conducted a test of its 5G network to control a robot drawing a tattoo. The actor Stijn Fransen received the tattoo with the robot arm controlled by a remote tattoo artist. The mobile operator said this is a world's first, which took five weeks to conduct.

T-Mobile Netherlands has confirmed the launch of its 5G network, at an event in The Hague with CEO Soren Abildgaard and the city councilor Saskia Bruines. The network covers a larger part of the country and is planned to reach national coverage by year-end.

The Netherlands' Telecom Agency has kicked off its auction of mobile spectrum in the 700 MHz, 1,400 MHz and 2,100 MHz bands, making available the first frequencies for 5G. The new licences will be valid for 20 years.

The Antenna Bureau has also stopped showing M2M locations. The separate map layer for NB-IoT (narrowband internet-of-things) has been removed from the register. The antennas, frequencies and transmission powers of NB-IoT are now shown under 4G (LTE) because NB-IoT is a characteristic of that technology. In practice, only one mobile operator made use of the option to report NB-IoT separately; other operators already put it under 4G.

T-Mobile Netherlands starts new gogogo campaign

T-Mobile Netherlands has launched new 'gogogo' deals. The mobile operator offers EUR 2.50 off the subscription price of its 5 and 10 GB plans and is waiving connection fees during the campaign. Discounts are also available on a number of smartphones (Samsung, Apple, Oppo, OnePlus, Sony, Huawei) with a two-year subscription and on the Sim-only offering.

T-Mobile Netherlands adds 67,000 postpaid, 14,000 broadband customers, for revenue growth of 3.3% in Q1

T-Mobile Netherlands revenue posted growth of 3.3 percent in the first quarter and a margin widening to 28.6 percent. The company added 67,000 postpaid and 14,000 broadband customers. CEO Soren Abildgaard said he was happy and satisfied with the results achieved. The company was forced to close its stores in March but these have now reopened with a "box-in-shop" concept.

T-Mobile maakt Go Unlimited abonnement '5G-ready'

Alle klanten van T-Mobile met een T-Mobile Go Unlimited abonnement kunnen gebruik maken van het 5G-netwerk van T-Mobile zodra T-Mobile dit netwerk live heeft. T-Mobile verkoopt sinds februari al het '5G-ready' Go Unlimited Plus abonnement, dat EUR 2,50 per maand duurder is. Vodafone has launched its 5G network across half of the Netherlands, with full coverage expected for end-July. All Vodafone customers with a suitable device and subscription will be able to use 5G in the coverage area within the week.
