Tele Columbus to offer mobile phone service
German cable operator Tele Columbus is starting its own a mobile phone service from 01 September. The offer includes free calls to all German mobile and fixed networks as well as 2 GB of LTE data at up to 50 Mbps for EUR 19.99 per month. The mobile service can be booked by current and new customers in combination with the "2er Kombi" and "3er Kombi" cable network packages. 

For EUR 4.99 per month, heavy internet users can increase their data volume by an additional gigabyte. Mobile numbers can be ported free of charge when changing from another mobile service provider. The one-time setup price is EUR 24.90; the minimum contract duration is 24 months. For the new mobile offering, Tele Columbus cooperates with Drillisch. The service is based on the Telefonica O2 network.

Tele Columbus presents new brand identity

German cable network operator Tele Columbus has launched a new marketing campaign to present its new brand identity. The new branding moves away from the company's traditional branding as an internet and phone provider to present it as a quad-play provider of TV, internet, fixed-line phone and mobile phone services. The new campaign can be seen immediately on billboards, on TV and on radio spots, as well as ads across the operator's core regions in East and West Germany.

WinSIM discounts LTE Mini SMS tariffs

Drillisch brand WinSIM is offering two smartphone tariffs with high-speed internet at discounted prices from EUR 4.99 a month. LTE Mini SMS 1 GB offers 50 minutes, SMS flat and 1 GB data; LTE Mini SMS 2 GB offers 100 minutes, SMS Flat and 2 GB data. WinSIM has also reduced the activation fee for both plans from EUR 29.99 to EUR 9.99.

Tele Columbus opens new site in Ratingen in western Germany

Tele Columbus announced a new sales and technology office in Ratingen where 40 employees from the recently acquired companies BIG, BMG and Wowisat as well as Tele Columbus will work together. The new site expands the company's presence in western Germany to increase the collaboration with partners in the housing sector; currently, the operator provides 340,000 units with television, internet and telephony. The Ratingen office will act as the new "Competence Centre Housing Sector".

Tele Columbus reports 2.3% revenue increase in Q2

Tele Columbus Group reports an increase in revenues in the second quarter of this year by 2.3 percent year on year to EUR 54.3 million. Tele Columbus plans rights issue to finance more takeovers

Tele Columbus announced its intentions to actively pursue the acquisition of other target companies, following the completion of the acquisition of PrimaCom. Tele Columbus expands broadband in Altdoebern

Tele Columbus has launched a broadband expansion project in Altdoebern. By 13 August, approximately 500 households will have access to bandwidth of up to 150 Mbps, digital HD television and telephony. Tele Columbus emerges on top from financial troubles

Germany's third largest cable operator Tele Columbus has announced an agreement to acquire Germany's fourth largest cable operator Primacom for EUR 711 million. The combination will have 2.9 million homes passed and combined annual revenue (based on 2014 figures) of EUR 345 million and a combined EBITDA of EUR 154 million. The acquisition follows several years after both operators emerged successfully from financial problems and the failed attempt by Kabel Deutschland to acquire Tele Columbus.
