Telefonica Germany launches new speed-based unlimited data tariffs

Telefonica Germany announced the launch of a new set of O2 Free Unlimited tariffs from 04 February. The new plans are based on internet speeds. 

The O2 Free Unlimited Max offers unlimited data at the maximum available speed of up to 225 Mbps at EUR 49.99 per month, while the O2 Free Unlimited Smart provides unlimited data at up to 10 Mbps at a cost of EUR 39.99 per month. These tariffs are ready to be used for 5G, too. The O2 Free Unlimited Basic offers unlimited 4G data use with up to 2 Mbps at EUR 29.99 per month. 

The three tariffs include unlimited calls and texts, and EU roaming. They are also available in the Flex version. This means that customers can cancel them at any time with a notice of 30 days by paying a further EUR 5 per month.  

The existing O2 Free tariffs S, M and L and the Boost option at EUR 5.00 per month remain unchanged in terms of price but with double the amount of data at maximum available speeds of up to 225 Mbps. The O2 Free L, which can be used with 5G, offers 60 GB at EUR 39.99 per month. The O2 Free M with 20 GB data volume costs EUR 29.99 per month, and the O2 Free S with 3 GB costs EUR 19.99 per month.

Telefonica Germany said it will increase data on the O2 Prepaid bundles for new and existing customers from 02 February. Telefonica Germany announced a new campaign to encourage postpaid customers to upgrade and extend their plans. It will start to contact customers from 03 June with the offer of additional data at the same price for customers who decide to upgrade and extend their O2 Free or O2 Blue All-in contracts.

Telefonica Germany offers free trial of O2 TV, Kidomi Kids app

Telefonica Germany is offering a free trial of its O2 TV service to existing customers for three months. With the IPTV platform, viewers can watch up to four different programs at the same time on TV, laptop, tablet or smartphone. The O2 TV service offers over 110 channels, most of them in HD.

Telefonica Germany raises throttled service speed to 384 Kbps after data allowance consumption

Telefonica Germany said that it is increasing its throttled service speed to 384 Kbps for customers who use up all the data allowance with their tariffs. The promotion is valid until the end of April. The increase is automatic and will take place within the next few days for O2 postpaid customers, and within the next one to two weeks for the O2 prepaid customers.

Telefonica Germany offers O2 Free Unlimited tariffs with Waipu TV, Amazon Music Unlimited

Telefonica Germany said that its new set of O2 Free Unlimited tariffs can be combined with its TV service, offered in partnership with Waipu, for EUR 4.99 per month. O2 TV is available without a contract and set-top box. It offers more than 110 channels, the majority in HD quality, and can be operated via an app. Up to four programmes can be viewed at the same time.

Telefonica Germany aims to start 5G 'as quickly as possible'

Telefonica Germany believes that the roll-out of 5G is first of all relevant for Industry 4.0. The increased transmission speeds and lower latencies open up completely new fields of application, for example for production and logistics processes, a spokesperson for the company said, Teltarif.de reports. The company is currently building the first 5G mobile network for automobile production for Mercedes-Benz Cars in Sindelfingen.

Telefonica Germany launches Selectable tariffs for professionals

Telefonica Germany has launched its Selectable mobile tariffs for professionals and the self-employed. They offer a choice of 60 GB or unlimited mobile data, as well as options for DSL and calls in the EU. The three plans all have the same monthly price of EUR 59.99 per month, plus a connection fee of EUR 39.99.

Telefonica introduces unlimited calls on new Blau prepaid bundles

Telefonica Deutschland is introducing new prepaid plans for its Blau discount brand from 01 July. The plans start from EUR 8.99 for unlimited calls and SMS and 1.5 GB data, valid for four weeks. New Blau customers will also receive a free 10 GB data in a promotion valid until October.

O2 Germany revises Free tariff portfolio with new option, hub service

Telefonica Germany said it has revised its O2 Free tariff portfolio, adding a new option for users called Boost and launching the O2 Free hub, as part of its ongoing mobile "freedom offensive" for customers. Beginning 05 June 2018, the relaunched O2 Free tariff portfolio will consist of three tariffs with unlimited telephony and SMS and flat rate 3G data after users have consumed all the internet allowanc in their tariff.
