Telefonica launches Fusion integrated telecoms brand
Telefonica has launched an integrated telecommunications offering dubbed ‘Movistar Fusion’. Movistar Fusion subscribers will receive a single bill with all of their integrated products. Movistar Fusion targets all customers, regardless of whether they are already Telefonica customers or not, and is aimed at both individuals and professionals, including self-employed customers. 

Telefonica Espana has been working for the past few months on the design and implementation of an integrated offer that is being presented today under the Movistar Fusion brand. The first of the Movistar Fusion options that will be available to customers includes services for a landline, 10 Mbps ADSL, and the customer’s mobile line, to talk and browse, with 500 minutes for voice calls and 1 GB for data traffic. This service is available for a monthly fee of EUR 49.90, including the monthly charge for the landline. ‘Movistar Fusion Fibra’ will be the alternative for customers who want to access Movistar’s 100 Mbps fibre service in addition to a mobile line with 500 minutes for voice calls and 1 GB for data traffic. This service is available for EUR 59.90 per month. 

Movistar Fusion TV and Movistar Fusion Fibra TV include the Imagenio Familiar package, with more than 70 channels and the full football offering of the League and the Champions League free of charge for the entire season, in addition to the landline, 10 Mbps ADSL with calls for the first option, and 100 Mbps fibre for the second, for a price of EUR 79.90 and EUR 89.90, respectively. Customers will also be able to activate additional features, such as additional mobile lines, multi-SIM, or a handset financing or upgrade plan. Movistar Fusion will also be associated with a new terminal upgrade plan, exclusively for customers who contract the service, with a catalogue of Premium devices and with interest-free installment payment options.

Movistar has expanded its Fusion converged services offering with the launch of the 'Fusion Extra' mobile data add-on. The service includes 1GB of mobile data traffic per month and can be activated by any Fusion service user. Spanish regional cable operator TeleCable has launched an integrated services offering dubbed 'Todojunto'. The package includes broadband connection, TV and mobile telephony services, ADSL Zone reports. For a monthly fee of EUR 55, the basic package offers broadband speeds of 20 Mbps for download and 800 Kbps for upload, flat-rate tariff plan for fixed-line calls, TV service with 40 channels, 200 minutes for mobile calls, 200 MB for data traffic and 500 SMS.

Regulator rejects Vodafone appeal against Movistar Fusion

Spanish telecoms regulator CMT has rejected Vodafone's appeal against Movistar's Fusion converged services offering. Back in September, Vodafone requested CMT to block Telefonica's integrated telecoms offer, dubbed 'Fusion', on grounds that, due to wholesale prices, the service cannot be replicated by competitors.

Telefonica targets 1 mln Fusion subscribers by end-2012

Telefonica targets 1 million Movistar Fusion service subscribers by year-end, Europa Press reports, citing Kim Faura, general director of Telefonica's operations in the Catalonia region. Over 25,000 customers have pre-registered for its Fusion service.
