Telefonica launches new AI-powered services at innovation day

Telefonica has announced the launch of new corporate products and services based on big data and artificial intelligence (AI) technology at the third edition of its LUCA Innovation Day held in Madrid. The company unveiled a new platform called Movistar Living Apps, allowing companies and organisations to create unique experiences for customers using Telefonica devices in their living rooms under a HaaC (Home as a Computer) model.

The apps developed under Movistar Living Apps run simultaneously through multiple devices such as the TV, router or Movistar Home smart device and use the company's ‘Aura’ voice-activated assistant. Companies including football team Atletico Madrid and tourism giant Globalia have already joined the Movistar Living Apps project, the latter giving Air Europa airline customers the ability to book flights or select seats using voice commands from the comfort of their sofa.

Telefonica also took advantage of LUCA Innovation Day to introduce other new services such as LUCA Suite, an AI platform that brings greater quality and efficiency to Big Data projects by automating algorithmic model training processes. As a result, companies can launch projects in a much more agile way and at a lower cost, said Telefonica.
