Telekom Austria completes Si.mobil rebranding to A1

Telekom Austria has rebranded its Slovenian subsidiary Si.mobil to A1. The rebranding applies to the overall market presence in Slovenia. 

The new A1 announced a number of offers to go with its name change. Going forward all postpaid customers will have access to the highest possible speeds on the LTE network, and prepaid users will receive the increased speed of 40/5 Mbps. All consumer customers are also offered two months free of the mobile TV service A1 Now. After the two months, a subscription at EUR 7.99 per month is activated. 

Home internet customers will see their speeds increase under the new brand, at no extra cost. A1 home net 1 rises to 10.3 Mbps from 2.4 Mbps, Home net 2 increases to 40/5 Mbps from 10.3, and Home net 3 comes with 40.5 Mbps instead of 20.5. 

For business customers, A1 offers two months free access to its mobile market services and two months free of Office 365 Business Essentials, for those who sign up by the end of June. They can also get two months free of the online back-up and storage service with 5 GB and two months free of the F-Secure PC security service.

Telekom Austria Group is continuing with the rebranding of the group to A1 and announced that its international activities will be known going forward as A1 Telekom Austria Group. A1 Slovenija reports 2.5% revenue growth in Q2

Telekom Austria reported 2.5 percent annual growth in second-quarter revenues for its Slovenian operation A1 Slovenija, to EUR 53.5 million. Mobile revenues rose 1.8 percent to EUR 44.8 million, as higher equipment sales offset pressure from the cut to roaming rates. Fixed-line and other revenues were up 5.9 percent to EUR 8.8 million. EBITDA fell 19 percent to EUR 10.2 million, hurt by increased costs for higher-value handsets and TV programming as well as the rebranding to A1 from Si.mobil in April.

A1 Slovenia revenues up 2.3% to EUR 52.9 million

Telekom Austria's Slovenian unit Si.mobil (rebranded this month to A1 Slovenija) reported total revenues of EUR 52.9 million in Q1 2017, up 2.3 percent on the same period in 2016. Mobile revenues rose 2.3 percent to EUR 44.2 million, while fixed line and other revenues increased 2.2 percent to EUR 8.7 million. EBITDA was EUR 12.1 million, down 13.5 percent, giving an EBITDA margin of 22.9 percent. At the end of the first quarter, the company had 717,000 mobile subscribers, down 0.1 percent year-on-year.

A1's brand Bob offers Gigabob, runs competition

Austrian operator A1's brand Bob has introduced the tariff Gigabob Unlimited for EUR 19.90 a month. It includes unlimited data at the download speed of 20 Mbps. The promotion is associated with a competition until 30 April, in which customers can win a ZTE Spro2 WLAN hotspot and smart projector worth EUR 599 and one of 50 gigabob unlimited starters. To enter the competition, participants must make a screenshot of the competition's video and add a comment to it.

Si.mobil gets approval to use name A1 Slovenija

The Slovenian government has adopted a decision authorizing mobile operator Si.mobil to change its name to A1 Slovenija, reports news agency Sta. One of the biggest Slovenian operators, which operates under the umbrella of Telekom Austria Group, announced the name change last November. A1 is the brand name of Telekom Austria and at the time Si.mobil CEO Dejan Turk explained that "in a globalized world there is no more room for strong local brands".

Si.mobil to be rebranded A1 in 2017

The Slovenian subsidiary of Telekom Austria is changing its brand name from Si.mobil to A1. The rebranding will be gradually implemented in 2017, across the company's fixed and mobile activities, Si.mobil announced. This is the first of the Telekom Austria Group subsidiaries in central Europe to adopt the brand name of the Austrian parent company. The new name for Si.mobil follows its expansion into the fixed market earlier this year after the takeover of ISP Amis.
