Telekom Austria says no new bid yet for Telekom Srbija

Telekom Austria hasn't submitted a new bid for Telekom Srbija, the Austrian company and the Serbian government said, refuting a media report the two sides negotiated a price for a smaller than expected stake."Speculation that appeared in certain media that 30 percent of Telekom Srbija was sold to Telekom Austria for EUR 840 million is absolutely not correct," the Serbian government said in a statement reported by Bloomberg. The government was referring to an unattributed report by Belgrade-based broadcaster B92. The government wants at least EUR 1.4 billion for a 51 percent stake, and told the Austrian operator to reconsider its earlier offer of EUR 950 million plus EUR 450 million in investments in the coming years. Telekom Austria has until 4 May to come with a new offer. A spokeswoman for the Austrian operator said it had not yet made a new offer.
