Telenor not obliged to supply payphones, number enquiries

Wednesday 6 January 2016 | 12:36 CET | News
The Norwegian Ministry of Transport and Communications said that since 01 January 2016, Telenor Norway has no longer been obliged to provide payphones, a directory enquiry phone service, nor an electronic phone directory. It said most people have access to mobile telephony, so the need for payphones is reduced. Many competitors provide number enquiry and directory services so there is no requirement for Telenor to supply these any more.
